The editorial team of the association with the help of Mr. Rajesh Kumar Abhay has also released a Newsletter on the same theme in March, 2011. The students not only participated with lot of enthusiasm but also won prizes for the same. The Second Year students went on a field trip to Nainital where they did a geographical study of the region and collected primary data through questionnaire survey. They were accompanied by Dr. Sarita Ghai and Dr. Renu Malhotra. Dr. Kalpana Bhakuni also organized a ‘Certificate Course on Ecotourism’, which was attended by most of the students of the Department and students of other Colleges. We were fortunate to get very good resource persons from the tourism industry and academics to enlighten our students about the role of ecotourism in sustainable development. This course has helped to enhance knowledge of our students in tourism industry. At the end of the course the students were taken to the Yamuna Biodiversity Park, Wazirabad, Delhi. We hope that the Department will continue to strive for greater achievements in academics with greater vigour and verve.
