In September 2008, a workshop on ‘Stress management and emotional quotient’ was organized with Ms. Novita Rajagopalan as a representative of Synapse Medicare.

An add-on Certificate Course in ‘Learning disability’ was offered to the students. It was organized by an NGO, ORKIDS under Ms. Geet Oberoi and her team of professionals from the field.

In December 2008, the Department organized an interactive session with Dr. Jitendra Nagpal on the topic “Community mental health”.

A motivational seminar was conducted on “Self awareness and goal orientation” by Mr. Rishabh, Ms. Kanupriya and Mr. Nishchay Suri from the School of Inspired Leadership in February 2009.

In August 2009, a Freshers’ Orientation Programme was held for the first year students to introduce them to the Department. A movie screening took place in September 2009. The screening of Girl Interrupted was followed by an interactive session with the students to discuss the psychological dynamics and nuances of the film.

An informative seminar on ‘Careers in Psychology’ was held for the students in September 2009. It was conducted by Ms. Anupama Ahlawat, a psychologist and consultant working in MAX Hospital. Also, on 10th September 2009, Dr. Isha Singh and Ms. Anupama Ahlawat of Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences, MAX Hospital visited the college to spread awareness about World Suicide Prevention Day.

Apart from these various seminars and workshops, an annual newsletter is also published by the Department in which students give their inputs and express their opinions.
