The Department organized a Sanskrit Kavyali Competition on 7th November 207 in collaboration with the Delhi Sanskrit Academy. Twelve colleges participated in the event. The main spaeakers were: Mr. Shrikrishna Semwal, Secretary, Delhi Sanskrit Academy; Prof. K.K. Mishra, Ex-Director, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi; Dr. Subhash Vidyalankar, Former Vice Chancellor, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar; Dr. Vedvati Dhingra, and Mr. Omprakash Thakur from N.C.E.R.T. A National Seminar on the topic “Indian Literature and National Consciousness” was held on 3rd December 2007 at Kamala Nehru College in association with the Hindi and the Punjabi Department of the college. It was organized by the Kalidas Academy for Sanskrit, Music and Fine Arts. Prof. Ramkaran Sharma, Prof. Satyadev Choudhary, and Dr. Sudha Pandey were the esteemed guests. Sanskrit Kovid Examination and Gita Prarambh Examination were organized by the Department in association with Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan. Gita Preeti Examination was organized on 31st January 2008. The Sanskrit Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 5th March 2008. In this academic session, the Sanskrit Association held its inaugural function and a Shlokavriti competition. A Prose-Reading competition was held on 10th September 2008. |
