Report 2010-11

 The fine arts society has been finally christened as "Luminoso".

The year 2010-11, has been really eventful for the fine arts society. The most important aspect was to design and make the backdrop sets, as well as costumes for the college play "Chitrangada". The main backdrop was hand painted all the way and the props used suring the play were all hand crafted. The fine arts society as every year did the decoration work for the college festival "ullas". Also for the college farewell the students made beautiful painted glass vases for the graduating students. Our students won many prizes at the inter and intra college level competitions. in the coming year we plan to do a huge collage on the college walls. 

The fine arts society of Kamala Nehru college takes cares of all art and aesthetics related activities. We organise workshops and guest lectures to inform and teach students about different art forms. we also have inter college competitions. Over the last few years this society has been solely taking care of all college decorations not only during the college festival but also for other activities as well. it a great oppurtunity for students to come and share their skills as well as learn new things . 

Report: 2011-2012

The fine arts society of KNC worked on varied levels during the last academic year. We began with an orientation for the first year students to make them aware of the kind of work that our society does. This was to encourage more students to become a part of it. We also organised for the first time a "Crafts Mela" at the college, where the art works of our students were put on display as well as sale. This included a variety of things such as clay sculptures, paintings, greeting cards, cushion covers, wall clocks, printed dupattas, batik work etc. We helped with the stage backdrop as well as props for the college play Chitrangada. Our most important accomplishment this year was painting the informal areas of college whereby we did warli and Jamini Roy inspired work on our college walls. The college festival decoration this year was based on Celebration of 100 years of Delhi, which included an exhibition on Delhi. 

Our students participated in a number of competitions across the campus and won prizes.
