Report 2010-11

Faculty Convener: Dr. Kalpana Bhakuni

Snapshots Society of the college offers a platform to the students to share their passion for photography. It is not about teaching the art of photography but developing the appreciation of photography. Those who have an eye for details, sensitivity for the things around and a creative bent of mind can be good photographers. Even a single shot of photography can speak volumes. In Snapshots Society the members meet regularly, share their photos on selected themes, discuss the thoughts involved in them and get new ideas from each other. Snapshots Society invites some well recognised professionals in photography to inspire the members by holding workshops. It also provides very good opportunity to the students who have their own collection of photos to put up solo exhibitions at the level of college.

Report: 2011-2012

The Snapshots Society organised a Photography Contest/Exhibition on 22 Mar, 2012. There were more than 18 students who participated by submitting three photos each in the Photography Contest. The entries were displayed through the exhibition and judged by Mr. Pramod Nambiar, a reputed professional photographer and freelance journalist. Afterwards the students had an interactive session with Mr. Nambiar. The entries covered a wide range of subjects with conventional and  modern styles. They were in stark black and white, subtle sepia hues and vibrant colours. The best three positions were awarded on the occasion.
